Looks like a small orange tomato! It’s a persimmon (per-sim-mon). There are two types of persimmon, one is slimy and sweet when it’s ripe and the one like in the picture is crisp and juicy. Because the skin of the persimmon is chewy or leathery, it is better to remove it before you eat it.
